IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter conducted an online meeting for Excom
members on 5th February 2021 from 6 pm  to 7:30 pm through Google meet.
Meeting started with a self-introduction and the chairperson Dr
Shamna H R, Secretary Dr Job Chunkath and core team member Dr. Lillykutty Jacob
addressed all the members. The agenda of the meeting
was delivered by Rohit Manikandan, SR IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter.
The main points discussed in the meeting were about various events to be
conducted by the Chapter for the year.

 

ESCOGE- ONLINE QUIZ SERIES

 

 

Escoge Final Edition

Date                 :   6 February 2022

 

Escoge is an online quiz series organized by IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter. It is a technical quiz series which will be held once in every month. Winners of each month are selected to participate in the finals of the Escoge. Over 200 students of various sections and regions have participated in the event. In the final  Edition (12th edition) there were 11  participants. The winners were 1st Keven Liam William, 2nd Lekshmi Sharma and 3rd Reshma B.

 

Inauguration of ComSoc SB Chapter

IEEE ComSoc SB Chapter at Adi Sankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kalady was inaugurated by Dr. Shamna H R, Chair, IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter. Ms. Sinu Damodaran, Chair, IEEE ComSoc SB Adi Sankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kalady gave the welcome address. Inaugural session was followed by a membership development session. Felicitation speeches were given by Dr. Job Chunkath, Secretary, IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter and Dr. Gopakumar A, Immediate Past Chair, IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter. Ms. Aswathy N, Branch Counselor and Ms. Neema M, Branch Advisor of IEEE SB  Adi Sankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kalady addressed the gathering. Mr. Sreekarun A, Vice Chair, IEEE SB Adi Sankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kalady gave Vote of thanks.

VIRAGO

Virago is an exhilarating quiz competition organized by WICE, IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter on 8^th March 2022 as a part of International Women’s Day. The quiz competition was held on the theme “Women in various fields.” Each participant participates individually through an online platform. The program consists of only one round at a duration of 5 minutes. 52 participants participate in this program.

 

The main aim of this quiz competition is to remind us about the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. This program was a very successful one and a lot of information was shared through this program. All Kerala participation is also a highlight of this program.

 

 

ComSoc Orientation 2022

The Membership development session for students was held at IEEE ComSoc SB Chapter of Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Kothamangalam. The session was handled by Dr. Shamna H R, Chair, IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter  and Ms. Sherina S, Travancore Hub Student Representative, IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter. Dr. Siddharth Shelly, Branch Advisor of IEEE ComSoc attended the session and conveyed best wishes for the team. Mr. Rohit Manikandan, the Student Representative of IEEE ComSoc Kerala chapter, also attended the session.

The session was successful with many details regarding IEEE and IEEE ComSoc was shared with the attendees. The speakers mainly dealt with the significance & benefits of IEEE Communications Society. They also explained the benefits of being a Comsoc member which include several standard publications, journals, magazines and Distinguished Lecture programs, etc.

There was a membership development session conducted by IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter in collaboration with GEC Palakkad. The session was handles by Arya R Krishna, Malabar Hub student representative and Gifty P shaju, Kochi Hub student representative of ComSoc Kerala Chapter.

The session had many details regarding IEEE and IEEE ComSoc that was shared with the attendees. The speakers mainly dealt with the significance & benefits of IEEE Communications Society. They also explained the benefits of being a Comsoc member which include several standard publications, journals, magazines and Distinguished Lecture programs, etc. The students were very attentive and very interactive.

 

 

AkComSocSC-2022

Date.     : 21^st to 22^nd May 2022

Venue   : Fisat

All Kerala Communications Society Students Conclave was a two day conclave exclusively organized by IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter hosted by IEEE Student branch of Federal Institute of Science and Technology on 21^st May and 22^nd  May 2022 . The event included a series of talk sessions, workshops, an overnight event and an industrial visit. On 21^st May 2022, an Industrial Visit to ACAAR, Industrial Track- 1 on current trend in transport industry which was taken by Dr Anjana P Ramdas ( Socialist- Autonomous transportation business unit), Industrial Track- 2 on Advanced Driver Assistance systems and Autonomous Vehicle Navigation which was taken by Ms Soumya V S ( Socialist Vehicle System Engineering, Transportation Business Unit, Trivandrum), Industrial Track- 3 on Localization and Environmental perception in autonomous driving taken by Ms Revathy T ( Specialist- Vehicle System Engineering, Tlxi) were conducted. On 22^nd May 2022, Ham radio exhibition and demonstrations was conducted alond with EMBED- IT Practical workshop on Embedded Systems and Communications Protocols that was taken by E R Abhinav R, Juniors Research Fellow at IIT Palakkad.

The total number of participants were nearly 80.Representatives from Kerala Section and the Professional Execom of IEEE ComSoc Kerala Chapter were present for the event.

In the May Edition there were 39 participants. The winners were 1^st Anupama Vidhyasagar-  Fisat , 2nd Anusree K- Gec Kannur and 3^rd Reshma B – Mohandas Institute Of Management.

Eloquence

Date.      : 02/06/2022

Time.      : 5 PM to 7 PM

Communication Society of IEEE SB GEC Thrissur in association with IEEE ComSoc Kerala chapter conducted Eloquence – an online Presentation competition. The participants were required to prepare A Power Point presentation on a random topics that was given to them. They were suppose to present it along with a proper explanation within the given time limit. Event Registration started on 29^th May 2022 and it was open to all students including IEEE as well as non-IEEE members. Registrations were free for ComSoc members, with a fee of Rs.30 for There were a total Number of 12 participants. The winners details is as follows, 1^st prize for Alan Nelson, GEC Thrissur, 2^nd Prize for  Akash Ajith, Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science  and 3^rd Prize Tessa Ann Josy, GEC Thrissur respectively. The winners were awarded a prize pool of Rs. 2000. With creative methods and innovative ideas, the event turned out to Be a platform for information exchange and brainstorming.
